Mousepads for sale!

Did you miss out on getting a Serenity mousepad? Well now's your chance to rectify that!
I've got 18 mousepads left over from the Adelaide Serenity screening and I'm selling them on ebay.
They're $5 (plus postage) and all proceeds will go to Equality Now.

I'll be putting some more pads up on Ebay shortly - alternatively you can contact me at if you would like to buy some.

Thank you Adelaide and good night!

Woohoo! Our Serenity screening went off without a hitch.
I'd like to thank the following people for making it all possible:
  • Damien for co-ordinating and organising the event
  • The Academy Cinemas for hosting it
  • Gwyn from Dramatix for handling our ticketing system
  • Laura Holland for supplying us with shiny t-shirts and a Serenity USB key, as well as helping out on the night
  • Mimbles for donating the poster prizes
  • Nixygirl for donating the mousepads
  • 11th hour for the flyers
  • All the dressed-up browncoats
  • Everyone who bought a raffle ticket
  • Everyone else for coming!

We made $180 total at the raffle, which added to ticket sales gives us $858 to give to Equality Now! Not bad for Adelaide at all!

Thanks again to everyone for being part of this magical event.
We have done the impossible and that makes us mighty!

And for your viewing pleasure, here are our best-dressed browncoats in all their glory. (Got to love that cunning hat!)

Best-dressed browncoat!

There will be a competition for best-dressed browncoat on the night. Prize will be a poster and a shiny t-shirt so come dressed as your favourite Serenity character to win!

More tickets for sale thanks to a bigger cinema!

That's right, the Academy have kindly agreed to let us have one of their 300-seater cinemas.
This means that there are now more tickets on sale!
Since we can now accomodate more people, the first 100 people to book tickets will get a free mousepad, instead of the 50 as posted here before.

Tickets now on sale!

You can buy tickets for the Adelaide screening of Serenity now!
Hop over to
Or you can phone (08) 74212306
Tickets are $10 and because we're nice, there's no booking fee!

How the ticketing system works:
1. You buy the tickets
2. Tickets are emailed to you, you will need to print them out and bring them on the night
2a. If you choose, ticket codes are SMSed to you so you'll need to bring the code on the night
3. On the night you show us your ticket or your code

"Help! I don't have a credit card! How do I book tickets?"

That's the question that's been asked by a few people, and as someone who didn't have a credit card until recently, I totally understand what you're going through. Unfortunately we're only selling tickets through Dramatix so my advice to you is.....*drumroll*

Get someone with a credit card to buy you a ticket and then pay them back. I'm sure you know -someone- with a credit card that would be happy to help. (I already know of several people who are doing this).

Your name doesn't have to be on the ticket, you just have to have the correct ticket code on the night, and since there's no booking fee you don't have to worry about your friend getting hit over the head with any hidden charges (by us at least, I'm not sure if there are any charges levied by the credit card company).

Alternatively this might be the time for you to sign up for a debit or credit card of your own (no advertising here, just a suggestion!)

How many tickets have we sold?

Since we managed to book a bigger cinema, I've changed this post to reflect how many tickets we've sold (since I have a feeling we're not going to fill a 300-seat cinema).

To date, we have sold 101 tickets!

Thanks for the flyers!

Just a post here to acknowledge 11th hour who worked tirelessly to develop the flyers for Serenity Now - Adelaide.
These flyers were based on her guerrilla marketing posters for Serenity which can be found at

So once again
Thanks 11th hour!!!

We'll be having a raffle!

Mimbles from Serenity Oz has kindly donated some Serenity posters for us to raffle off on the night.
Of course all the money gained from the raffle will go to Equality Now - we'll probably be selling tickets at the door when we check your tickets so have your $2 ready! Depending on whether or not I can get to the shops on the Friday there may be a Serenity DVD up for grabs as well.

No tickets at the door!

Just to let you know we won't be selling tickets at the door, so make sure you book before the 23rd or you won't be able to get in to see the movie!
